Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2011-2012 School Year at Our Lady of Sorrows School. I hope the summer break has given your child opportunities to learn and grow spiritually. My name is Rolando J. Garza and I am honored to serve, along with our Assistant Principal Mr. O’Brien, as your new school Principal.

I have spent the last twelve years working for the McAllen Independent School district as a classroom teacher and most recently as a school administrator. I would like to thank everyone for the warm welcome that I have received. I’m excited about entering a school culture that focuses on student learning and academic excellence, especially since I myself am a product of Our Lady of Sorrows School. I have two children who have graduated from the school and my youngest daughter is entering her final year as an 8th grader.

Our Lady of Sorrows School is deeply rooted in a tradition that promotes academic success. One of my goals is to continue the tradition while keeping the focus on our Lord Jesus Christ. I look forward to working with the families, students and staff that make up the Our Lady of Sorrows School community.
